Phoenix problem

i need some help with the phoenix because it doasnt matter how long i flame it with a fire wyvern or flamethrower the progress bar doasnt even show up is it like normal sc where a heat wave is required to tame it? and if so when doas it accour i havent seen one yet

would also like to know how to tame the HOPE phoeninx. is it passive or tranq?

UPDATE. I tamed the Hope phoenix twice now by trapping it and shooting fire arrows. my crossbow was ASC 500% + and it did 1.1% per shot.
