By this point, Japan was 100% facist so for them to shift ideologies it should have short term negative effects. Communism should have to be won through civil war only as the japenese would not have wanted a turn away from their Monarchy. Going diplomatic should be more achievable and give good trade relation bonuses with the USA and UK, with focuses for supporting china against the communists either through your own dem faction, or allies/USA faction. Facism should also have an isolationsit tree that gives huge millitary bonuses, but longer to fabricate war goals and force you into an isolationist economy.
