So i don't know if it's nrmal or not but i hope there is a trick to win against so much ennemies because it make me think of the final mission in the normal campain but at the beginning of this mod
Its no bug, its supposed to be like that.
You fight a Guerilla war, its diffrent to Vanilla game.
You are not supposed to kill every enemy, you are supposed to infiltrate a site, then go in, stay concealed as long as possible, then hit hard, fulfill your task and move out.
Stealth is vital in LW2 ... hit and run is the motto!
The better your infiltration was the less enemies you face, the shorter evacuation timer gets and the more easy a mission in all is.
Most missions you can do without a lot of fighting, at least in the beginning.
If you cant do good infiltration cause timers are to short, you have to assign more of your havens members to intel (I suggest to assign at least 2/3 of them to intel in the beginning).
Also scanning with Avenger in a region greatly increases your intel.
Another thing is that you are not supposed to do every mission, in opposite, one of the keys to win the game is to choose the missions you do wisely.
LW2 is hard, you must learn a lot to master it, its NOT a casual game.
So first read the manual, then start complaining about bugs.
Edit: Also often its much better to do a mission with only 2 or 3 soldiers, not with a full squad, the more members your squad has, the longer infiltration timers get.
Later in game you get tools and equipment that helps you shorten infiltration timers for bigger squads (you will need them), but in the beginning ... choose wisely and use small squads, as said. Never do a mission with less then 100% infiltration, better try to get 200%.
Advent will set up missions that look easy but then hit you with infinite reinforcements.
If you're trying to kill every single enemy on No Salvage missions (missions where you don't get corpses) you're doing it wrong.
You don't get corpses, mission exp is based on the # of enemies present on map at the start, not whether you kill them, and you're putting your soldier at risk for taking hits they could have otherwise avoided.
Not killing anything is a totally viable strategy for many missions and is often better, because you don't risk injuries.
I love the challenge, LW2 is a masterpiece. Almost like Jagged Alliance 2, one of my top three of the first golden age of computer games.
LW2 is fracking tough. One mistake or bad dice roll and adieu squad. One single thing goes wrong, nothing you can do but fight till inevitable death. Run for evac.
I do love it, if not I had not started so many tries. My poor troopers never reached more than 2nd Lt. with laser weapons.
On veteran difficulty, iron man.
Playing guerilla tactics. Something always goes wrong, most of the time it is RNG, fracking drone chosing to go straight to my concealed team for example. And that's that.
Pity, I believe I will abandon XCOM2 soon. Without LW2 it is not sufficient, with LW2 soon to be unenjoyable. How about NotSoImpossibleMissionLongWar mod?
There are only many ppl out there totally overestimating themselves, who dont understand the mechanics in detail, but if you do ... you can win every mission.
I can and I am not the superhero some others here are, so you can too, I am sure.
Its unbalanced still in some parts, I agree, but not impossible to win unbalanced.
But ... sorry, playing LW2 on ironman in its actual state is a bit stupid, unless you are a halfgod in this genre, are you?
or, let me tell it this way ... you are a pro and a superhero for sure, but as long as bugs, mostly not fixed by Firaxis, can kill half of your squad, Ironman is risky.
Dont play Ironman and reload only if bugs appear, you have the same effect ... everybody will see that you are a real hero then anyways, even without playing it on ironman.
And if veteran is to hard for you, play it on Rookie.
Its no shame at all to do so. Many selfcalled Pros and Halfgods do meanwhile.
Cause most ppl have to learn before they get masters.
And if something is real hard or difficult like LW2 is, it takes even longer.
I know some are masters by birth, but they are few ... and I personally dont know one, well, at least after looking behind the lies.
If after doing this 2 things you still think its to hard and impossible, come back and complain again.
Before, just learn to play perfect.
Where do you find me stating I was a superhero?
There are some mods out there, which pretty much negate the bugs.
I prefer iron man not because I believe I I am elite and I sure as frack don't care about achievements or what people here think of me. I tend to save/load too much, can't help it. So I like that option deactivated.
I do have a real life. But I admit to XCOM2 LW2 taking a huge chunk of that at the moment.
Cheers, enjoy.
But I dont understand your first post now anymore anyways ... I quote you:
First post:
"Pity, I believe I will abandon XCOM2 soon. Without LW2 it is not sufficient, with LW2 soon to be UNENJOYABLE. How about NotSoImpossibleMissionLongWar mod?"
Second post:
"I LOVE to play it exactly the way I do. As long as I ENJOY playing the intro mission over and over again. "
But I am not a native english spealer, so I assume I did not get your intention in the right way.
If so, I apologize.
I highly suggest playing on rookie. I can only play a few hours after work each week. I am often tired and make mistakes. Haven't lost a soldier yet. I only save scum, when I misclick, or when I want to test a mechanic. Last night, I tried to set up an ambush on a network tower. I activated the whole map at once by accident. Luckily, my shinobi was able to get to the hack in time, so it kinda worked out. I didn't even get a wound.
No need to apologize, but your kindness is appreciated.
My intention was to express my joy with LW2 and to make a wish to the universe. Maybe some hero modders hear my prayer
I played vanilla on rookie already. Not that I need the "veteran badge", but I read the changes, which did not seem so threatening. But that may not be true for LW2. Sectoids with 7HP, brrrr.
I love the challenge, but maybe it adds up to too much punishment once Mutons join the fight.
Maybe I can bring myself to adjust the settings for LW2 myself. When I can overcome my allergic reaction to codes that is.
Three mods in particular improved my experience greatly: True Concealment, Perfect Information and Additional Icons. Take away some of the stress and allow for a better tactical gameplay imo.
RockPaperShotgun has more mod suggestions

Well, Universe has heard your wish already.
There are many mods out there, especially designed to make LW2 more easy.
First of all there is a complete series with "An easier War" in its name, if you use them all, it makes LW2 much more easy.
Another one, that I would not recommend at least on Rookie, is "True Conceillment" which changes behaviour of timers. I actually have it activated and I did never need it, cause I am nearly sure I did not play a single one mission where I would have had not enough rounds to complete my goal. But deactivating a mod in a running campaign is nervy. You then always get a note, that you dont run it and it may cause errors. But perhaps on Veteran it makes more sense, but I wont use it again.
Another, in my opinion very nice mod, which makes it easier is a Mod called "LW Tactical Supressors". This one adds tactical gameplay options using stealth, enabling you to kill enemies in stealth (must be one hit) and dont get detected. Instead there is a counter, which increases and with every kill made this way, it gets more likely that you are unconceilled with next kill. I love it! It adds many options to your tactical play.
Then there is a mod called "Working Infiltrator Suit", which offers additional stealth and infiltration armours, but this I also wont recommend, cause it often does not work as intended and breaks your line of sight if you use the grapple.
But it makes the game easier, cause the armours there are more effective then the original stealth armours.
Besides that there are many mods out there, that improve informations you get during fights ... and even more important, informations that are reliable, e.g. which means a 90% hit chance then means 90%, not 90% - 20 - 10 -5 - 3 ...
And last but not least, there are some mods out there which add diffrent enemy classes to your soldiers pool, if you want them, which can make the mod much more easy too.
I am sure, with a bit of search you can get a LW2 just as you want it, there are more out there then the ones I did name now. Only problem may be that it gets too easy fast ... and caused by that it gets as boring as vanilla fast.
But with a bit of testing you can find a perfect mix.
Have fun.
