XCOM 2
Long War 2
Is there a FAQ and if not, why?
Hi,

I rerally appreciate the amount of work that went into LW2, but the longer I play LW2, the more questions come up and there really is no place to get answers easily.

Questions like,

- why do my PCS's keep vanishing from my troopers, especially the "Hacking PCS"?
- how really is Advent strength working?
- Where did my rebels go? Why did a whole lot of my rebel forces suddenly vanish? (All across the globe the number of of rebels suddenly diminished, I did get no notice on why. I have one region now with 0 personnel)!
- Can it be that there are retaliation missions I am not informed of despite prioritising intel in all my bases?
- Why do all dark events counters always only show up in regions with the highest Advent Strength rating with under 1 d notice, and are in fact impossible?
- Why have that many impossible missions at all? Mission with under 1d infiltration time keep comong up no matter what I do (see also "where did my rebels go!) and mostly they are the essential ones.
- Why isn'it there a chance to at least try to beat the dark events. Its a useless and broken game mechanic if countering dark events will always be impossible.

There is a fine line between "challenging" and "annoying". Informing the player just what went wrong, so that he has the chance to learn and change his tactics is essential to not be annoying.

So please, give us a comprehensive FAQ and dont keep everything a mystery, so that when something bad is happening I can go "Ahhh, thats why", and change my approach to beating the game.

LW2 is fun, but keeping secrets about essentuial game mechanics and in game events might ruin it for me.

Thanks

Science and Labs:
They really are not well explained in the archives. Probably many made the mistake I made and assumed that all new scientists automatically are assigned to Tygan to excelarate research.

That this is not the case, and that you do need labs to do so, should be made very clear in the archives.

All changes in how science, labs, the testing facility and such work desperately need an FAQ.
As for PCS's their is a continent bonus for letting you switch out the PCS without destroying the previous one
@Element UK
No, You got me wrong there.
What I am saying is that two times that I gave a hacking PCS to my specialists it had vanished when I checked their inventory some missions later. Maybe that happened with other PCSs also, but I did not keep track. I am deep int the game and have many soldiers, so I don't know for sure.

Is it a bug?
Is it meant to be that way because that soldier got wounded and it was destroyed?
There is no way to check up those questions.

UFOPAEDIA is slowly compiling a wiki base for LW2 and can answer alot of your questions. (How advent strength works, why your failing to detect dark events in time etc.)
It's not complete though, but its coming along greatly.

The Rebel and PCS Disapearance sounds like a bug though, unless your rebels are turning out to be faceless, in which case you should implement a soldier advisor in your regions to root them out.

Thats just it, isnt it?
There are so many game mechanics that feel like a bug and bugs that could be game mechanics.

examples: I dont have any idea why sometimes in a mission in a region with mid to low advent strength that I have infiltratet with 120%+ I meet pods that come in shooting and overwatching instead of scattering. Is this a feature or a bug?

Also, sometimes desoriented advent troops and vipers suddenly overwatch, again, bug or feature?

I also personally feel that permanent dark eventa are a bug as long as there is no game mechanic for countering them.I know its a feature, but it feels very buggy and chance driven.

I feel if I get "f***ed" by chance there should be a feature to use, a strategy, to not loose the campaign to of it, otherwise it is broken.
