I mean, I'm still using the ballistic weapons and kevlar armour.
I'd still like to know if it's a bug or not tho.
More likely its a harder version of the Faceless Dark Event.
Did you had that event?
It was like my 4th or 5th mission since starting the campaign.
It was less than two months into the campaign.
ADVENT strength was 1.
I haven't had any dark events that I know of since i haven't even unlocked the first AVATAR event and don't have an AVATAR countdown bar.
It's a workday tomorrow, so i won't be able to do more testing, but it seems to me that the odds of getting two faceless ambush missions in a row are very slim, so this is either a bug or a dark event. But the thing is, the dark event list is empty.
Can you get dark events before you get the avatar countdown?
So I guess you get the best specialist inside game to kill faceless now ....
I'm thinking of removing mission timers just to be able to flush out the Faceless.
Last mission I survived on ROOKIE difficulty with 1 wounded soldier, but that mission had like 35 enemies plus the 7 faceless, and I had 9 Rangers and one Specialist.
I managed to get out of there on the last turn of the timer, but I had to execute the VIP instead of capturing them because the faceless kept appearing and I had to get super defensive.
If I had had a smaller squad, that mission would have been impossible even if there were less enemies, because faceless force you into a defensive stance.
