THE ALLIES
UA: "Defenders of the Free World"
-Militaristic City-States gift you units more often when you're at war
-Friendship with other civs produces Great People faster (Sweden's UA)
-Gain additional spies
-Earn Great Scientists faster (or something to do with Great Scientists/Science)
UUs:
Prism Tank
-Ranged unit
-Gets stronger when adjacent to another Prism Tank
Tank Destroyer
-Massive combat boost against enemy armor
-Significant combat penalty against infantry (or maybe even cities since ingame they sucked at killing infantry and structures)
UB: I would say Chronosphere but emulating how it functioned in RA2 would be complicated
Grizzly Battle Tank
-Replaces Tank
-Can either ignore ZOC or have extra movement points ("High speed, low drag")
-High flanking bonuses
Harrier
-Replaces Jet Fighter
-Heals faster
-Has a combat bonus against ground targets
UA: "Divine Destiny to Rule"
-Shrines and Temples now add 1 more faith more than default.
-Military Units gain 15% attack and -15% defense
-Units fight at full strength even when damaged (pretty much copy from Japanese civ)
-Naval Units get 15% more experience than normal
UU:
- Shogun Battleship: (I think the Strength could be 80 or 85 and replaces the battleship)
10% buff to attacking cities but is especially vunerable to plane attacks.
- Giga Fortress (Gunship Helicopter replacement) costs 4-5 aluminum
20% buff to attacking land units and cities but -30% disadvantage to anti-air or fighters/jets
UU: Mirage Tank (replaces tank)
-Is invisible to units not adjacent (like submarines) (Maybe just in forests/jungles)
-increased damage against infantry type units
UU: GI (repalces infantry)
-extra defense when fortified (like how they can bunker up in ra2)
-Maybe just having the fortified defense bonus even when not fortified?
-feel like they could use another thing as well
UU: Tanya (replaces great general) (this would also cause multiple tanyas to be able to exist, which is a little odd)
-in addion to the regular great general bonus she can also fight and defend herself instead of being killed like a general usualy would when attacked. Her attack and defense would have to scale with the era
-Bonus towards attacking cities (seeing as she can use her C4 to blow one up.
-can still be stacked under a military troop.
Love ra2 and love the soviets under Romanov. Nice work
Battle Lab
-Replaces Research Lab
-Generates +1 extra Science
-Small increase to the City's combat strength or HP
Ore Purifier
-Replaces Factory; requires 1 Coal
-Allows the City to generate Gold faster
Prism Tower
-Unique defensive structure; available at Atomic Theory
-Greatly increases City combat strength (not sure if it should increase City's HP)
-Costs maintenance
Chronosphere
-Unique defensive structure, can only be built in the capital (just like the Soviet's Nuke Silo)
-All newly created tanks get a free "Chronosphere" promotion that enables it to be paradropped 40 tiles when inside friendly territory (AKA they operate just like XCOM squads)
-Some passive benefit (Science?)
*Minor factions augment the civ's UA (for example, playing as the Russians gives you Romanov's UA + Russia's UA), they do not add UUs or UB*
SOVIETS
Russia: "Tesla Tech"
-Tile improvements & buildings cost less maintenance
-Hydro Plants provide extra Production
Iraq: "Desolators"
-Uranium resources are doubled
Libya: "Demolitions"
-Receive a Gold refund whenever your armor units are destroyed
-Armor units have a small combat bonus when attacking
Cuba: "Soviet Fanatics"
-Receive a small Gold refund whenever your infantry are destroyed
-Infantry units have a small combat bonus when attacking
ALLIES
America: "Air Superiority"
-Air units, Paratroopers, and XCOM Squads are cheaper to produce and have more combat strength
-Airports can accomodate more air units
Germany: "Tank Warfare"
-Armor units are stronger and cheaper to make
-Armor units get promotions faster
Great Britain: "Sharpshooting"
-Ranged units get +1 extra range
France: "Grand Cannon"
-Defensive structures cost less Production and provide more City combat strength
I can't think of any UA for S. Korea without making it a carbon-copy of America plus both factions have 4 sub-factions so it would be balanced
Unique ability: We Stand Together (+5% Combat Bonus for units for every Declaration of Friendship or Alliance with a City-State that the Allied Civ has, capped at 25%. Additional 5% combat bonus when fighting in owned territory or territory belonging to an ally or friend.)
UNITS
Unique unit 1: Prism Tank
Functions as a Rocket Artillery, cannot shoot over terrain obstacles, but all enemy units and/or cities adjacent to the targeted unit take additional damage.
Emphasis on this because I feel like the Rocket Artillery is severely outmatched by lategame futuristic units such as the XCOM Squad and Giant Death Robot. No Civ seems to have a good fire support vehicle, the Rocket Artillery is only designed to wear down cities.
Unique unit 2: Grizzly Tank
Same as the Modern Armor, trades ten or five Combat Strength points in exchange for one extra Movement.
Unique unit 3: Destroyer
Replaces Missile Cruiser. Cannot carry missiles, instead can only carry one Submarine Hunting Drone which provides an eight tile sight radius to the Destroyer and can attack enemy submerged units. Also submerged unit detection. Cannot intercept aircraft.
Unique unit 4: Aegis Cruiser
Weak in melee and cannot offensively attack, but it is absolutely vicious against enemy aircraft units. It carries a combat bonus against aircraft equal to four(?) times the strength of a Missile Cruiser interception.
Unique unit 5: GI
Replaces Infantry OR Mechanized Infantry. Fortification bonus when fortified is doubled, combat bonus against enemy infantry units except the Mechanized Infantry.
Unique unit 6: Guardian GI
Replaces Bazooka. Double the foritification bonus when fortified, can ranged attack up to one tile away while keeping its fortification, and can intercept enemy aircraft while fortified.
Unique unit 7: Robot Tank
Requires a Robot Control Center in a City to be constructed. Low maintenance, low Production cost, can go out on water, like the BNW Helicopter Gunship, and can attack enemy ships and vehicles in melee. Can move after attacking, but is about as strong as a Tank or Landship.
BUILDINGS
Unique building 1: Ore Purifier
Acts as a new tier of a Gold structure. +5 Gold per turn, and +1 Gold for every Gold and Gems resource worked by this City. Stacks with Refinery.
Unique building 2: Ore Refinery
+1 Gold for every Gold and Gems resource worked by this City.
Unique building 3: Battle Lab
Replaces Research Lab. Additional +2 Science on top of the regular Battle Lab.
Unique building 4: Spy Satellite
When constructed in a city, provides a 20 tile open sight radius like aircraft's Recon promotion, without needing aircraft based in the city. Could probably be abused but oh well.
Unique building 5: Service Depot
All non-infantry units adjacent to this City will heal an additional 10HP per turn automatically. Effect stacks with Fortify Until Healed, and Faith Healers.
I have ideas for GDI and Nod as well if you would like to hear them.
Problem is, there's already an ingame unit that's also called the Destroyer. Unless we can find another usable name to differentiate it from the existing Destroyer (which I can't think of...) I think this UU idea might be dead in the water.
Not dead in the water at all.
I could hear his voice while writing my post, yeah. I think the Allied Civ should promote making a lot of friends and not getting into a lot of wars. Maybe a bonus for liberation too or something.
Speaking of which, my GDI and Nod ideas are both Tiberian Sun anyway so it doesn't matter.
Nod would have the Light Tank replace the Tank for Tiberian Dawn, the Tick Tank replaces the Modern Armor for Tiberian Sun, and the Avatar replaces the Giant Death Robot for Tiberium Wars?
Good idea? Evolutionary version of the factions, I suppose.
