I did some reading on this SCP a while back.

Yes, this is a massive pool of blood. Creatures will also come crawling out of it. These creatures come in many shapes and sizes ranging from a metallic ball that shoots radiation at people, to a literal terminator. In the lore, you can also dive into it (or at least it is thought so). It leads to another world where these creatures come from (allegedly).
