Upgrade Station v1.8i
Upgrade item quality
Hi there,

What sort of quality items does this push out... yeah that doesn’t make sense at all let me re-phrase.

I've tried a research/upgrade mod in the past and the items you research/upgrade to were game brakingly OP. You could research primitive bows and longnecks to the point they were more powerful than a legit ascendant bit of gear. The researched ascendant gear could probably one shot chuck norris....

And the server doesn’t want that again. In short do you upgrade to an in game (or equivalent) engram/blueprint or have you just picked the damage etc. levels?

Hello! Thanks for your question. :)

In short, we don't have control over the physical stats that are generated when generating an item. Basically, we say, "ARK, give us an item of Journeyman quality." And ARK delivers us an item of that quality. The stats, however, are completely randomized.

Some people report generated items being higher than blueprints they found in the wild. Other people report generated items being lower. However, it truly is random.

There are some new nodes added to the Dev Kit recently that we're going to investigate to see if we can get the stats multipliers exposed to server admins but that's not anything that we can implement until we know more about how they work.

Thanks! :)

Thanks for the info, this is just what I was hoping to hear. the R&D mod was a nightmare having primitive longnecks fully researched and hitting for 5mil+

i encountered the same thing on my scorched earth server and it almost seems like the stats of each level add up or something like that.

and i ended up with Water Retention of 220 to 280 whitch is a stat that normaly shouldnt change afaik

I had 2 axes being generated inside a loot cave (spiders, centipedes, etc.) and one of them were having a stat of 10.8, the other owning stats of 11.2 (don't remember anymore if it was the weight, dura or dmg value).

The stats seems waaaay overtuned for some reason. When I generated like 80 random green stone hatchets they had between 105-120% damage modifier. But a single upgrade on a regular white stone hatchet and it went straight to 200% weapon damage.... Is there a way to downtune this, because it makes farming dinos entirely redundant and all gear you find in the wild inferior to everything that's crafted

We got the same problem, our ascendant rex saddles (we got them via upgrade station) are so overpowered, the broodmother does 0 damage to our rexis, if we cant change this we have to disable the mod
