Mod Details and FAQ
How does it work?

You get around 100 development points (+25 every decade) yearly, divided randomly among planets you control. Bonus development points assigned for stuff like pops, not being in a sector, etc etc. Once a planet reaches a given threshold (500 base +100 per existing level 1 world), it gets set to the sorter which uses a weighted random list to decide what planet modifier is best. Similar process for upgrading a level 1 world to appropriate level 2 and level 3 worlds.

The specialize edict lets you skip the weighted random list and decide a type for yourself, while the develop edict increases development points for a specific planet.

Mod Compatibility

Evolving Worlds doesn't overwrite any files, and should be compatible with save-games and other mods. Here are the caveats:

  • Mods that add Buildings - Because I can't check tile production, the sorter checks for building types. Buildings added by mods aren't on the list, and so might throw off the type assigner. You will still get established worlds, the logic behind it will just be a bit wierder and more random.
  • Balance - My balancing is vaguely based on the base vanilla game, so while other mods won't break anything, they might make the balance really off.

Tell me if there is anything you run into that I can fix!
