I did this becos I didn't found any evidence of those trucks having V8 engines, everything I found on google before making this decision seemed a bit cliché or fake. Now, there's numerous people who already complained about this but for me it's simple. If there's a V8 engine on a real life truck that doesn't have a V8 sound i'm surely motivated to correct the soundfiles so that they will sound like V8 engines.

Another option would be to make another mod seperatly (higher priority as this one) with the V8 sounds so you people can decide for yourself.

Last but not least, all the files are on the scs forum. Incl the ones for actross & MAN V8's. The link to the topic will be added in this workshop item. I honestly tought I did this before, but it might have been lost when for an unknown reason the mod got removed from the workshop before.

According to this article from 2014 MAN no longer uses a V8 as their top engine, it was replaced by a V6. I'm fairly sure Scania is the only one now with a true V8 available. http://articles.sae.org/13571/

@NuclearWarBear it was actually replaced by a 15.3L inline 6, but that's for the Euro 6 version of the truck. (and no manufacturer use a v6 anymore, whether it's in europe or in north america)

@Ata5II The Euro5 version was available with a 16.2L V8, the D2868, but it was discontinued in 2014 with the passage to Euro6, where they switched to a 15.3L inline 6, the D3876.

And actually, if you want a good one, the ancestor to the TGX, the MAN TGA was actually available with a 18.3L V10, the D2840, but it was pretty rare.

Anyway, these 3 engines are usually used for heavyweight, most of those doing linehaul usually use the smaller 13L engines instead
