Snake Head Position
Put the snakes head on the upper part so that its visible while holding/shooting the gun otherwise is everything perfect.

Mmmm yea was thinking about this... With the big angle change on the AUG side the snake body gets distorted as it goes around the angle, which ruins the smooth curves. I was trying to design it so I didn't have to project detail and end up with stretchy scales.

Good suggestion though, might have to do some more tests for another version.
