Starting animals randomly change genders
On Prepare carefully, I tend to take one male/one female of several species.

I found that anytime I reroll the map, it randomly changes the genders of the animals that I have brought along with me (Not talking about wild animals on the map). This unfortunately makes the mod unusable for me, as I can no longer breed the nreeding pairs I have brought along, as I suddenly will have two males, two females, etc instead of the preselected breeding pairs.

It took me a long time to figure out which mod was doing this as I had assumed it was an animal-related mod. But after checking I realized it only happens when I reroll the map with this mod.

To check, use Prepare carefully to bring one male one female of a number of animal types (the more you bring, the better odds the breeding sets get messed up) and check their genders before and again after a map reroll...

Otherwise, I really enjoy this mod, and am sad I need to disable it for now :(

Yep, it's a compatibility issue on the side of Prepare Carefully. Looks like the author moved on to other things, so I'll have to try and make a compatibility patch on my end.

Not likely. I'll have to take apart the mod sometime and try to identify the issue.

I've noticed once we reroll the map the seasons also change. I usually like to start on a permanent summer map so I noticed this as all of a sudden I have winter coming along. This thread is a bit old but I hope the developer sees this as a on going issue. I also note that I have prepare carefully installed along with this mod.

Yep, fixed the gender change issue a while ago.

Noted. I'll put this on my backlog- if I ever get to updating this again, maybe I'll take a look.
