Lore
I was asked a question relating to Brunai lore, it was too long for the comments, so I've started a lore post. Here we go.

Question - from Ginseng126:
Did the Brunai teleport/warp their star out of their home galaxy before or after it became a blackhole?

Answer:
After they were driven from their home world Brunai'dum (the broken world in their home system) millions, if not billions of years ago, defeated but not destroyed, they collapsed their star, unai'dum into a black hole they named the eye of darkness. They then built a new home, the great ring, around the black hole, using it as a source of power and convenient way of keeping outsiders away (the Brunai have gravitationally stabilized the ring, any approaching non-Brunai ship would fall into the black holes gravity well). They named their primary ring segment after the star they collapsed.

They have lived on the great ring for longer than most species have existed, no living Brunai (and remember they are immortal) even remembers life on their home world. They have shifted from galaxy to Galaxy, dimension to dimension, for so long they really have no idea how long it has been since unai'dum was collapsed into the eye of darkness.

They do know it is their main source of power, both literally and figuratively. Without it they would not be able to power the technology to shift from galaxies or dimensions. And if they lost the eye of darkness completely to an enemy, it would mean the end of their civilization. They would simply not know how to exist without it (and the solar system). It is their one constant, it's always there, wherever they shift to they know it will come with them.
