There are more people defending the map than you think. Also you've said that it's not because it's in Greece, and if it weren't you wouldn't be complaining.

The map is featured on TF2 and has a 5-star rating. If people really hated the map, it would have at most 3 stars. Obviously the people who hated this map enough to call it a ripoff are vastly outnumbered by people who actually like it.
