Ever thought about adding it? I know it is quite wide IRL, but not as wide in-game as the English Channel. Although it might be rushed through by warships, blocking (slow) enemy trade convoys would mean a UK controller of Abu Dhabi could prevent Japan's oil trade with Iran and Iraq. That seems perfectly reasonable from a gameplay point of view, and it has been done IRL. Not sure in WW2, but IIRC in more modern times patrols in this strait could stop/check all passing ships.
