The Rock Is Useless
The entrance to a high ground is too wide, Troll or elves can just walk right around it after placing a rock. Thus leading to death of elves.

If you place it in the middle troll can't walk past.

Hold alt while hovering to place the rock. It will show a grid with red, green, and white. White areas are walkable, green is where the new unwalkable area will be, and red is unwalkable terrain. The troll can only walk in spaces 2 tiles wide. Use this to place the perfect rock for your base.
