Nanite Control Factory - Automated Construction (Not working - Old Version)
Optyk 16 May, 2016 @ 6:00pm
Projection Nanites Not Working
The Projection Nanites do not function at all, on either a pre-existing incomplete ship with a Projector or a purely projected ship (large or small block).

2 Projection upgrades are installed. Nanite Factory and Projectors ownerships are all set. Access to Components is all set. No custom commands/disables are being used in-game or in the .xml file. Available power is more than enough.

If I build something new on the station, on an existing ship or damage any block, the Factory will work as intended. It just completely ignoring any projections.

Single player, Survival mode. This is not the only mod installed.

Can you please publish your world so I can see this? I can look at it and easily see the issue.

I have many, many mods loaded. I'm assuming that's the issue.

Thanks for your save. This issue has been corrected. Please try it again.

Was there something I was supposed to do? The Factory is still just sitting idle ignoring projections.

It's also ignoring a bunch of new large grid blocks I laid down that are connected via a large landing pad.

Seems to be ignoring anything that is not directly attached to the station.

Loaded a new world. Lone Survivor, only 1 mod and thats a small Admin Script. http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=316190120

Factory is still not touching any projections. But it functions as designed otherwise.

Unfortunately due to how landing gears work, a leading gear is not considered a "connection". Use connectors, merge blocks, pistons or rotors.

Ah ok, that's a shame. Guess I still have to use Digi's Large to Small Grid mod to have the Nanites build a small grid ship. It's odd the Nanites cannot function like a station welder in regards to building a projected Block that is not connected to the station.

Will the Factory ever be able to do that?

Example: I have a damaged (undockable) ship with missing blocks, I put a projector on it, but the Nanites won't build them. Or will I just need to re-build that ship the traditional way with hand welders or tow it into a repair bay etc?

Right now projections have to be built via a connection to the ship that has the factory. This will probably change if I implement projection beacons which will allow nanites to target projections remotely. That will be added sometime soon. But for now, you need to connect them in some way.

Very cool, look forward to that feature. I will just continue to enjoy the mod until then.

Thanks for the help and the great mod!
