same here and it happens to the metro and trains as well

can confirm, it seems that all of a sudden the mod became incompatible with something within the game and constantly bugs out when trying to 'continue' any kind of a public transport stop. Error message is exactly the same as the one posted by OP.

Another confirmation,
when you are placing bus stops, bus lanes are not valid routes. When using the restriction tool at normal roads, I see the bus responding to resident vehicles.

It seemed to have stopped for me. I had to disable the rush hour mod and then it worked.
