[DISCONTINUED] Infinite Grappling Hook

Bug?
Hey, great mod! We love it on our private server. But we have noticed a sort of "phantom" hook that sometimes appears after you dismount and it begins pulling you across the map. We normally either have to hit c multiple times to unhook it or die.

I am not sure if it has to do with your mod or just a bug in the game.

Don't log out with a grappling hook equipped in your hands, switch to a different tool before logging out. No clue why this happens, so I can't fix it

I had that problems as well, only when I had an infinite grappling hook loaded into my crossbow though. If it isn't loaded I don't seem to have the problem. It did not seem to matter if my crossbow was what was in my hand or not. Have only had to crouch once to break it though and no dying. Cool mod though, I had only used the things once with the vanilla hook do to the cost and added weight of it's 'ammo'. Much more fun with this infinite one.

After the update to the game this morning (236) I now get the grappling glitch pretty much anytime I stop riding a critter, whether I have the grapple loaded or not, even if the crossbow is not in my hands, or even in my hot bar... Also hitting crouch is required multiple times for and my friend now.

In case it helps, seemed to stop if I remove the grapple from my inventory (I put it in a storage chest) and hasn't started up again, since I've avoided having the crossbow loaded with the grapple when riding and haven't logged off with it loaded or in my inventory.

Cython I think it is because the way the game handles infinite ammo means that the grappling hook can be fired multiple times at one point in time. If it happens to be fired more than once at a single point in time then this bug starts happening. If the grappling hook is only fired once, used to grapple, then disconnected, etc the bug doesn't seem to present. I am looking into how the firing can be slowed down, while still having infinite ammo, to prevent this.

The mod is now at a new Workshop ID. Please check the mod description for the correct link :)
