Yesterday I have played one game with US side against Germans with year 1942 set up. I was incredibly surprised that Germans had Tiger what is historically unacceptable. Yes, truth is that it was used on the battlefield but as a part of 502nd Schwere Panzer Abtailung in one test platoon in this detachment in pieces of 7 at all Eastern Front especially just at the Leningrad Front Area. As we can suppose the practice variant Porsche Tiger was moved after several weeks from the front as not users’ friendly tank as had many technical breakdowns. The second use of dozens of Tigers were noticed in mid of December 1942 (it is extremely late of 1942 to use them in the game for whole 1942 year) near Stalingrad under Hoth´s (4th) Tank Group when he tried to save Paulus 6th Army but once again with many problems with their use. All this mean that regular use of Tiger in 1942 is out of the reality as common tank as in both mentioned times it was just tested several days and removed from battlefield. First regular use is acceptable in 1943 in Afrika and since springtime at the Eastern Front but in 1943. It is same with Marder III with 75mm gun in 1942 when the soviet 76,2mm captured gun would be more historically correct as variant Marder III what is in 1942 is typical for 1943 but the best for 1944 year. Without Matildas I and II in 1941 we are not speaking about the regular tank forces. Truth is that Matildas saved Moscow, but it was not then and still it is not extremely popular to speak about this by Soviets in the past and now by Russians. Sometimes is better not to use Wikipedia and to make a deep study about the used units.
