Contrary to real life the ruins give no cover anymore, whilst in reality ruins were much more difficult to overcome,especially by tanks.
However, in the game it is advantageous for the tanks to have plastered all the buildings since then there's no obstacle at all left.
I don't know if this could be easily rectified in the game?
