But now finding players to play with online will be difficult....
Yeah, I also think that this will be an issue. Most of the players wont download the sub mod because they dont check the mod steam page and wont see that theres a sub mod to add it back. Therefore almost nobody will play the game with both mods and then they will miss a huge part of it (especially units).
On one Hand I find it very good that we now have more RAM and therefore fewer crashes, but i really miss A LOT of units which are now not available. It feels like a very huge part of this awesome mod is missing, and therefore I have problems to enjoy it properly.
Maybe add the Option "All" back on the Units tab? So you still have the vast variety of Units and therefore more possible ways to play the game for those who want it?
its really impossible now to play without that arty spam, and lots of crashes is after another one Katyusha strike...
nobody wants to download one more one addon... you just sitting and waiting for 1 hour... and nobody join
RobZ, you gained all of respect from players for your best mod for MOW2, but now you losing it, lots of players are angry, and switched to valour mod e.t.c.
Its really sad... :(
i always played Robz for historical reenactment over competitiveness , so i liked the date selection.
It is removed because it increases the memory used by the game. Higher memory consumption means higher chances of crashes in mowas2. It does not matter how much memory you have, the game is capped at 4 GB because mowas2 is a 32-bit application. We played 150 matches last year and maybe only 10 of them were able to finish. With this update, this rate changed drastically and I'm grateful to Robz for it.
We're playing 8v8 like this, and it does not take more than 2.5Gb, no crashes at all.
Removing this from the main mod was a ♥♥♥♥ idea just like when kill log was removed. Maybe optimize some stuff instead of removing the years and dividing the community.
What? You are full of ♥♥♥♥. I can show you at least 4 ppl that i'd play regulary with full matches and we rarely crashed. Mostly due to some maps. Most crashes occured when we went on 2-3 matches in a row without restarting the game.
I can guarantee you if you play on year 1942. 20 matches then 44-45 you'll probably have higher chances to crash on 44/45.
If you launch your game and start ALL units or 44-45 then you do any other lower year without restarting the game then you have high chances to crash.
But you can see that robz has something against the lower years even judging by the red text splashed in game on the background where it urges you to play at low settings and year 44-45. Earlier years are good too and most likely less likely to crash due to less units.
So i don't see how removing them has helped when initially it was rare to crash already since it wasn't defaulting on "all" units anymore. Rather combine back SS and Weh and the soviets and redguard, that'd probably save more ram.
Overall most crashes happened on playing "ALL" Units and playing many matches in a row without restarting the game, that's what caused it, even at a faster rate if you had played ALL UNITS. filled the game's ram to ♥♥♥♥.
