Model States
You know they added states to models and junk, right? Why don't you just combine all the pizza mods into one mod and allow people to select what kind using states? Could probably vary the soda product and etc. with this as well.

Could states be used to make the slices; whole, half-eaten, only crust remaining ?

Probably, but you'd need a state for each variant with each 'eaten status', making 9 states with just what's there.

I haven't played since states were added. I will definetely look into this the next time I have an opportunity to work on this mod.
