Economoy Balance
I've noticed in my game that the economy is absolutely flourishing, but in my opinion in a bad way. Nearly every town is at 100 prosperity. I have Bariyye as a fief, and it is the poorest town in Calradia at 77 prosperity. 19 of the 22 towns are in the very rich category, 3 in the rich, and none average or below. Villages are a little less rich, but still, >70% fall into rich or very rich.

If every town sits at 100 prosperity, it greatly disrupts game balance. Huge armies of tier 5 and 6 troops are the norm. Calradia is not a peaceful land of trade where everyone gets rich. Calradia is a land of hardship, bandits and wars.

Average should be roughly the average. It should be a bell curve. The people are richer and flourish in times of peace and trade, and the prosperity index dips down somewhat when there are many wars going on. As it is, there is no incentive for patrols, trade agreements or anything of the sort as a decently located town will be at 100 prosperity almost no matter what.

Anyway, I very much enjoy the mod and hope to see the economy balanced somewhat. I understand how difficult tweaking such a sensitive thing can be, but I hope to see it in an update. Thank you for the excellent mod.

Thanks for your post. This is happening because of the default settings in the Diplomacy mod. This link here http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/workshop/filedetails/discussion/590123705/451851477886760333/
Breaks down the settings you can have in the Diplomacy mod. In my game I turned off the economy options completely.

So I turned the economy setting thing off near the beginning of the game and im about 300 days in now and villages will still be rich even after being raided. Is there a way to fix it?

edit: I should say that its going down a bit, but pretty slowly. The towns however are still all rich or very rich

Glad I found this discussion, but it's pretty clear with testing that this is NOT the fault of Diplomacy mod. When starting up a new game in AoC, I got an average Town/Village prosperity of 88 and 84 respectively. When doing the same with Diplomacy mod, the average starting Town/Village prosperity was 62 and 64. To better put this in perspective, AoC started my game with 72 Villages in the 'Very Rich' category. Diplomacy started with 0.

I then waited a week in each game to see the changes. AoC went from 72 'Very Rich' Villages to 93, without a single Village in Calradia ranking below Rich. In Diplomacy, the number of 'Very Rich' Villages went from 0 to 1, while 11 were looted and dropped to 'Very Poor'

So as it stands, AoC has a pretty ridiculous starting bias when it comes to prosperity. This problem is then amplified by Villages losing a negligible amount of prosperity when looted, only to regain it in no time at all.

I love the new troop trees added with AoC, but this economy problem is really rearing it's head. I'm on day 260, and every Town in the game has a Garrison of over 400 units.
