So, I looked through the other discussions, and someone brought up the hair cosmetics.
What if instead of the soldier taking the helmet off himself, as he went down to the ground, it fell off itself?
That way there wouldn't be an out of place (and well done) animation for people with hair cosmetics to worry about. The animation would only affect hats connected to the proper bone.
Just an idea.
