Bug- firing into the air.
So, i've had this happen with entire lines. even even had my own character do it , and this is guns discharging before they're aimed.

for the player i could say it was just a misclick but the AI doesn't really misclick even if one soldier mistakenly discharged its weapons straight into the air. i don't think the entire formation would.

it makes it kind of annoying. also i think some units should have their morale lowered namely unarmed peasants, or poorly armed bandits who lose like 10 men in the opening barrage, an keep charging.

Both of these things are pretty much just quirks of how Warband works. Parties of bandits will bum-rush you with 15 to your 150 in battle, and animations can be a little iffy.

For the preemptive firing, I'm pretty sure they projectile is still shooting straight, even if the gun's model is pointed the wrong way. If it really irks you, tell your troops to fire at your command (F3, F1) and have them all shoot once they've all aimed, or set them to volley fire (F7, F6).

I... Okay? I wasn't really arguing whether it was a bug or not. Just explaining that it's a bug that pretty much every mod is going to suffer from. As far as I know it's a problem with the game's source code, which means there's very little/nothing modders can do about it.

considering i've not noticed this in other mods , admittedly most mods don't have a bright flash with a long barrel for the ranged weapon. it doesn't seem that common.
