All items gone this morning
My friends and I have this mod on a private server and we're huge fans. At some point this morning, the mod disappeared from our server. We didn't realize it until we logged in and saw all items related to the mod were gone. We've gone back and tried to restore from an old SavedArk file, but everything is still gone.

I read the FAQ saying we should never start the server without the mod files, but in this case we didn't even know they were gone until we saw everything missing. Is there anything we can do at this point to salvage what we built, or will we have to start over?

You will have to start over if the backup is not working, if the server launches without the mod being uptodate it automatically deletes everything related to the mod. The only way to fix it would be if you have a copy of the save folder that contained a save with the items still in it and launched it with the mod installed and up to date/ Same thing happened to me once:/ now I create a copy of my save folder every few hours that the server is running and label it with a time and date so if something like this happens I can just replace the save folder with one of the backups.

Never happened to me but this is what I do also. Just in case.

Thanks for the help! I'll be sure to save the whole folder rather than rely on the autosaves from now on.

i never really relied on auto saves.... after shutting down my server i run a "World backup" bat file i created my self that goes in takes the ark server folder and places a copy in a rar folder thus giving me full backup of my server prior to an update.... a little extream i know but its the safest way to have a back up that you know worked!

If you've gone back to an automatic known date from the Ark systems auto backups, and they are still gone your server is ignoring the mod or not told it's there somehow. Maybe the .ini file was tweaked with again and the ActiveMods= line removed again.
