No weapons for a starting conjurer
Starting a new character with Conjuration 3, Decking 3 and Body 2 (everything else at 1) I found that I was unable to use the weapon I was given (a pistol requiring Ranged weapons 2) and unable to buy a conjuration based weapon, the only weapon I could buy was a Spellcasting based one.

I had to restart with a new character since I couldn't get anywhere with the second mission.

If it's anything like the vanillia campaigns, any 'Tech' skill will lock you out of starting 'magic' equipment.

May be able to easily get around it by leaving the decking points unassigned, creating the shaman, starting the game, then spending the points to get the decking skill.

That would likely give you your base starting magic toolkit, but not a datajack or cyberdeck. You'd have to find and buy them.

I was commenting more on the fact that none of the vendors were offering a conjuration based weapon for sale. If I'd selected a Decker/Spellcaster I wouldn't have had a problem as Power Bolts were available from a vendor, but Decker/Conjurer is my preferred combination.

That would work, but it would also cost a lot more nuyen. *8')

As of Bamboo, you can choose, a set (or none) of equipment you want, provided you meet the qualifications. Previously, a half-implemented mutual exclusion ruled.
