Help for Siege Co-op (Contribution Thread)
Hello,

This thread is dedicated to help those who understandably may find Siege somewhat difficult. If you have successfully claimed victory in this map, please post your tactics as a reply here to help others who may be struggling.

As with all maps in the Blood Brothers series, I aim to provide a 'challenging but fair' gameplay experience to you guys. Since not everyone can be expected to be equally good at CoH2, this thread provides some helpful tips for those who may struggle to complete this map.

In the interest of not ruining the gameplay, I will only provide beneficial tips to help improve your chances of success on this map, but these are tips, and as such will not carry you all the way to victory... you will have to go the rest of the way by yourself (or with a co-op partner of course).

Spoilers may be included below, please DO NOT read on if you have not played the map. It is better to play it first then come here if you are stuck.

General Tips:
- Players 1, 2 and 3 have specific roles to play in this map, and as such their starting resources reflect this. Player 1 has a surplus amount of starting fuel. Player 2 has a surplus of starting munitions and Player 3 has a surplus of starting manpower. Player 1 can produce mostly only tanks (with the exception of engineers, conscripts and call-in infantry). Player 2 can produce units as normal. Player 3 can only produce units from the Special Rifle Command (Penal Squads, Scout Cars and Snipers). Players 1 and 3 cannot construct more buildings until one of their existing buildings have been destroyed.

- The map is designed to be split into two halves. One half is mostly open ground with mud patches, this area is designed for large scale tank battles, with the mud patches impeding infantry movement more to allow for an advantage for tanks in the area. The other half is a dense city, designed to severely cripple tank manouverability and provides infantry with the upper hand.

- Almost always will the vehicle group from the enemy Player 4 go directly to the bridge to the right of Player 2 at the start of the game. Knowing this, Players 1 and 2 can co-ordinate and prepare to meet the German reinforcements coming into the city from the countryside in a pincer attack.

- The two halves of the city can be made inaccessible by the other side by blowing up the two bridges connecting to the city. The enemy may repair the bridges, but as long as players keep the bridges destroyed, there is no other way into the city, leaving the two halves of the map separated and allowing for players to focus purely on their own half of the map.

- If you read the dialogue at the start of the game, you will find that there are two train stations located within the city. One to the left and another to the right of Player 2. By taking the appropriate strategic points, you can activate a more convenient map entry position, especially for Player 2.

Tips for Player 1:
- A range of strategies are available for you at the very beginning of the game. Whatever you do, do not rush blindly into battle without careful consideration of what is lying behind the fog of war. Keep eyes on how many enemy tanks your allies have destroyed, and plan accordingly.

- You will need most of your manpower to build tanks. Use infantry sparingly and carefully. Try not to lose them if possible.

- While your role is primarily focused on the countryside half of the map. In many situations it would be necessary for you to get involved in the battle inside the city.

Tips for Player 2:
- The enemy tank group will hit you very hard at the start of the game, be prepared.

- Enemy artillery has a chance to hit you at the start of the game (and for the rest of the game until they are destroyed). The many tall houses within the city can act as cover for at least one hit from artillery.

- The bridges act as an excellent chokepoint to hold your ground.

- You have a variety of strategies available to you at the beginning of the game. Although unlocking the train station map entry points should be one of your priorities throughout the early stages of the game.

Tips for Player 3:
- The enemy will hit you very hard at the early stages of the game. Depending on what your allies do, the enemies may continue to hit you hard in the mid or late stages of the game.

- Be careful of enemy artillery at the start of the game, keep your units in suitable positions or they may be wiped out in one volley of artillery.

- You are also the most suitable player to eliminate the enemy artillery. Try using snipers to eliminate the enemy artillery (once the artillery is eliminated they cannot be re-crewed by the enemy).

- A major problem for you is your lack of ability to build AT guns. In order to counter enemy medium or heavy armour, you will most likely need Player 2 to help you defend your base with his AT guns.

I tested this map as player 1 and 3. As 3rd with able players and as 1st with 2 easy bots.

1st player (ATTACKER)
- is tank oriented so its very important to keep tanks allive as long as you can. Enemy OKW player has puma armored cars and flak halftraks near second bridge so be careful and try to use your inf. as a bait for pumas. I highly recommend to destroy second bridge to cut off enemy reinforsments so you can focus on OKW players base. OKW base gonna have minefields all around it so minedetectors are very important. Recomended is also to destroy OKW players base and leave there some units to prevent repairing his base, you dont want to see KT behind your ass. Your commrades need your help so try to finnish OKW as soon as you can. Since 1st is tankist use them to destroy other players bases to gain your victory faster and prevent Werm players from building tanks.

2nd player (MULTIPLE ROLES)
- He is balanced player so he can help 1st or 3rd but 3rd is with out AT so good choice is 3rd. Helping 3rd is good also because arty positions can reach your base and expect arty barrages on your base after few minutes.

3rd player (DEFENDER)
- is infantry player. You have to expect lot of enemy ostroopen units moving towards you so brace your self near market. DO NOT BUNCH UP! arty cant massaccer your units in second since there are 3 of them sitting on small island between werm players 6 and 5. Use bait for those arty and let them waist salvo after that is your chance to kill attacking units and move your snipers to position near his arty, use flare to spot them and kill them one by one. I recomend to send escord with snipers like guards or shocks. If you manage to destroy artys I recomend close stairs with barbed wire and focus more on center. Rolle of 3rd is more like defending and helping tanks of player 1 and 2 to andvance. You can try to destroy base nearest werm player but you have only small chance since you are between 2 werm players and you are risking loosing your only AT guns and special troops.
(If you use commander to call tanks then you will be able to destroy enemy bases with ez and also if you are skilled player you can beat both werm players all by your self.)

I hope this few tips will help you win this great map. (pls dont kill me for my bad english)

Destroyed all 3 enemies but no victory condition. Am I missing something?

Are you sure you've destroyed all their buildings? Their bunkers might also count as a building to be destroyed in order to win.
