As a matter of fact I think there could be a mix up - namely the green "Fabric" we get from scrapping tactical military wear and some other clothing items, does not seem to have any use...?

Would make a lot more sense if it was used to craft those military grade cargo pouches instead of animal leather.

You can get heavy leather easily by killing the bulls that spawn at Knell's Ranch. Two can spawn there and there's a pond just south west of the ranch that also usually has a single bull. Knob Hill Lot sometimes has one although it seems less reliable than the ranch.

Fabric is used for repairing mid-high tier clothing and crafting rain barrels/buckets although I haven't actually seen it rain yet.

Thanks, found a few bulls around the ranch area. Still a bit weird as the only reliable source of high-end gear material but it should be suffice for now.
