Wave Creation Information
====Bot Spawns====
There are 5 spawn locations that regular bots can spawn at, and two places for tanks.

Main Area (Before Gate)
Main Spawn (Large robot vehicle)
  • botspawn0_main
  • botspawn0_boss
Flank Spawn (Dropdown from building)
  • botspawn0_flank
Support Spawn (Pier behind building)
  • botspawn0_support

Gate Area
Main Spawn (Building)
  • botspawn1_main
Flank Spawn (shipping container hallway)
  • botspawn1_boss
  • botspawn1_flank
  • botspawn1_support

Tank Spawns
Tank spawn names do not change after gate capture. The main tank spawn is the tunnel near the flank spawn, and the forward tank spawn is the tunnel near the forward upgrade station.
  • tankpath_u_1
  • tankpath_l_1

There is support for engineer bot spawns placed at various locations on the map. The engineer spawns at the lower level near the bot entrance will be disabled if the gate is captured.

====Relays====
Start: wave_start_relay
End: wave_finished_relay

====Bot Tagging====
The only notable tag is that any bots you want to use the flank routes (not the flank spawn!) should be given the "flanker" tag. Gatebots repsond to the "bot_gatebot" tag which should automatically be set for any base gatebots.

====Bot/Tank Paths====
General (Helipad/lower area)
At the helipad area, bots always take the same routes, based on which spawn they are from. Bots in the main spawn will take the route left of the helipad, while bots from the flank spawn will take the route right of the helipad. Gatebots spawned on the flank spawn will take the tunnel in order to bypass some red defenses, dropping down near the forward upgrade station. All bots converge here and proceed up the ramp, or through the side staircase if they are flanking bots.

Tanks spawning at tankpath_u_1 take the main route around the helipad, while tanks spawning at tankpath_l_1 take the flank route around the helipad. Tanks spawn at the tunnel to the left of the dropdown flank spawn.

After the gate, the paths diverge into a "lower" and "upper" route.

Lower Route
This path is the shorter of the two paths, and is slightly easier to defend. It is windy and flat. Flank bots can go through the building at the first bend in order to shortcut through to the second bend.

Tanks spawning at tankpath_l_1 will take this route.

Upper Route
This path is the longer, straighter path, and is slightly harder to defend. It has ramps and a lot of flank space. Flank bots go through the elevated area on the right.

Tanks spawning at tankpath_u_1 will take this route

Gate
Bots in the main spawn will take the right side staircase down, while bots from the flanking spawn will drop down off the ledge on the left. After this, they continue to the regular paths as normal.

Forward Tanks
Tank spawns are named the same here, and take the same routes as previously mentioned. Forward spawning tanks will spawn at the tunnel to the left of the forward upgrade station.

====General Recommendations====
It takes bots a bit to get from the main spawn to the defending area, so any bots spawned from the flank route should take that into account timing wise.

I've found 20,000 to be a good number for tanks in early waves, while 35,000 is a good number for later wave tanks.

The helipad itself is powerful highground for reds to utilize, but isn't without it's weaknesses. If you find reds are getting too comfortable up there, demomen are effective at spamming down any defenses players may have up there. Additionally, fast or tanky bots spawning from the flank path generally helps to draw players away, such as fists of steel gatebot heavies or super scouts. In general, forcing players to the ground is advised as the map is less fun when you spend all your time on the helipad.

While the flank route is meant to be more for flank bots, I find the map plays better when players have to split their attention between the two routes, so a healthy amount of flankers (and gatebots!) can be used to split the team up a bit. Tanks also accomplish this quite well, so utilize them when you can.

I would recommend spawning sentry busters, snipers, and engineer bots at the support spawnpoint, as it gives a more central view to them spawning alongside giving newly spawned sniper spots some good sniping locations. Spybots are usually best spawned at the flank spawn, though I believe they teleport around anyways so it shouldn't matter.
