Counter-Strike 2

Counter-Strike 2

Transit
I can swear to god Transit had more developers on their listing, all of which had no other submissions besides Transit, and all of which had cheb's pfp. I "assume" they were selling rights to their map to sponsors, who later god removed, alongside the map.
Prior to the map getting removed, I clearly recall there being around 5-6 developers instead of just these 3

I watched one of the developers youtube videos where they were talking about how happy they were that their 3rd map got added, doing so in Russian, the video of which I can no longer find on youtube.

I think the issue of why their map got removed may have stemmed from them wanting to sell the rights to their map, to external sponsors, who were going to get a cut of the shares if the map were to get added

Following up on this thought process, the most current accusations, that I definitely side with in how I believe them to be true, is that they were also utilizing malware to mine crypto off of the PC's of people who ran their map, as I myself had begun experiencing the absolute worst lag that was present across all players that were playing wingman on that map

I think Valve cracked down on these practices, and on how they were both trying to mine crypto, sell map rights to external investors, and were also potentially utilizing stolen assets, with my assumption being that they were directly ripped from stray.

I feel like the cat poster and its easter egg were more than just an easter egg, but more as a point of ridicule in what they were trying to get away with

DO NOTE: Besides the fact of there being more developers previously associated with this map submission, who now have gotten removed for whatever reason, I presume that all of the later aformentioned statements to be "only speculations"

This map, despite its remotely problematic playstyle, was still styalistically good looking that I would see it get added

But with me having NEVER seen a CS2 map get removed, I can genuinely only anticipate the worst, unless both valve and the developers give some commentary on their decision making

can't confirm this, as the map performs normal on my PC, there is very likely no crypto miner in the map (as this is technically impossible to implement too).

yeah, the creators did one or two bad jokes, but this is the best map added to cs in a long time and it should return, as all the problematic stuff already has been removed from the workshop version.

it is also not a virus or some other kind of malware, as the map is not an executable or does not perform code execution at low level. The map scripting does not allow the map to interact with your system in any way and is simply too weak to pull off something like a crypto miner.
At the time of me running this map as my first ever game on counterstrike, both me, my wingman random and our enemy duo were all experiencing incredibly awful frame drops while all having "allegedly" really good PC's

I can at the very least vouche for my own, as mine is easily capable of games much more demanding than anything CS2 could offer, and yet my performance was getting tanked to its absolute limit
The script implementations that have been introduced into CS2 can't be exploited outside of the game's environment so far. There was actually no crypto miner within the map as I've played it off the workshop a month before it was even listed into the official matchmaking and I haven't noticed any suspicious behavior of the game's executable. The map is just poorly optimized at some places, especially around the middle parts. The worst exploit that CS2 ever had was during its first months of release when some map makers have exploited the unprotected commands which could manipulate with your in-game's inventory and execute commands to remove the items or even access the containers. Since then, there wasn't anything else found out that could affect the players in a negative way.
You can't run crypto miner trough a map or the scripts dude, you guys have no idea how Source 2 even works. Valve definitely opened the map's package and files before adding it to Counter Strike 2, jesus.. the stupidity.

g3om, rainless and cheb are missing from the authors now. Ref. web archive snapshot from September 20 and August 6.

Were these the people missing when it were still 6 people in the contribution page? Because now its just one dev behind the map
