—— WANTED CONTENT / FEATURES ——
:hocusRed:Is Marble or V.I.P. spaces will be added?
Because our project already have or will have really many features and locations to offer, we are sorry to announce that they are not planned at all for now, as the Source Engine will not be able to handle so much and advanced content in a single level, unfortunately. We still have a really lot to do on many aspects, especially on level-design, 3D modeling and scripting. We know that Garry's Mod has higher limitations, but our project also has huge ambitions.

Designing video-games are slightly more complicated behind the scene than players think. We want to create as accurately as possible, but of course by doing with the fact that this is a video-game on a pretty old engine. First, you have to deal with the final addon size containing every resource used since it use space on SteamCloud, but you also have to work with memory usage, rendering budget, edicts, physics, shadering, and many more aspects that people ignore when playing their game. You have to balance everything to avoid crashes or errors, guarantee performance and stability, while keeping a reasonable file size.

Another point to keep in mind is that you have to think for every addition, the balance between cost and interest. We prefer focusing on highly demanded places and features first, also with actually playable games. There is no point adding an incredibly expensive location if it is not iconic.

Maybe we will have a surprise and still free engine resources to add everything; we'll see at the project's end. It is unknown at the moment if after massive phases of hard work optimizing and saving each face & edicts, we would be able to add more content.

:hocusRed:Can you make a working Tug of War and Red Light Green Light?
As there is no convenient and optimized way to actually detect players movements in this branch of the Source Engine, it's simply impossible to have "the game" know who moved. You either have to wait for a third-party gamemode to be released, or play it with your other players that can analyze that and eliminate players.

:hocusRed:Can you magically add a way to get "pictures" taken from the staircase in the control room?
To get back real, we kindly remind you that we are speaking about Garry's Mod, on the Source Engine. Such feature is completely impossible in any aspect within a map. However, maybe it can be possible from a dedicated third-party addon, but this is not our domain of work.

:hocusRed:Will there be a second map?
No, as there is no point making a second identical project only changing some locations. This project already requires a lot of work, and we still have other work in the team.
Also, one single level can be played at a time in multiplayer, which make multiple levels unusable for that use, which is the main purpose.

—— GENERAL PROJECT——
:hocusRed: Can you turn off musics?
We have thought about letting players choose music level even before adding them! Remember that you have a music sound volume in your game options. You can either set the wanted volume, or turn them off completely, user side.
Also before asking, how music works in the level make them not controllable in the map itself, as they depend of locations. This is also unneeded as they use a much cleaner and optimized way of "controlling" them, the in-game music volume feature.

:hocusRed:How countdowns work and how to use them?
Countdowns, alongside doors and every other game feature are controllable from the control room. You can start different countdowns, stop them, alongside other features like changing the lobby lighting for day and night, toggling slaughter event, adding money to the bank, toggle vote mode, and many more features through the control room!

:hocusRed:How work the Facility Self-Destruct feature?
This unique feature can be triggered in the control room, through the Master desk. You first have to open the slider, press the red button, then press again and hold for 5 seconds. This will lock every feature in the control room and more generally the whole complex. You will have 5 minutes to escape.

Please note:
• This cannot be undone after being activated,
• Map will need to be reseted to play again normally (obviously),
• Every remaining player in the facility will be killed ; respawns will be in the ocean.


Warning: In the current version, as there is not yet exterior, death and softlock is unavoidable.


:hocusRed: Something is bigger/different than the source, is this done on purpose?
Games are games, TV shows are TV shows.
In series, you only see close views or quick large shots. You also have lot of post processing to trick the viewer. Video-games are different. You can move in space, be conscious of sizes and depth. You always see through large field of view, feelings are completely different.
Some structures can feel "real" when being seeing through TV camera, while they will feel absolutely odd and unrealistic in 3D game engine.

This reason in addition with technical limitations in game engines, require to do some analyses and adaptations when working on 3D content from cinema or real life origins. This is why we adapt few spaces by slightly downsizing scale, adding details or making minors modifications / embellishments.

:hocusRed: Can I make videos or artworks on your map?
Of course! That is the purpose! Just don't forget to give a link to our work and feel free to share to us your creations. We always really like to see users videos, visiting our levels, seeing how they discover our projects and their reaction.

:hocusRed: How long to wait between updates?
It really depends on the type of update and the complexity of the new content, alongside our other work and projects. For a small "Hotfix" update, usually a few days. For a major update bringing new places and features, one or two weeks.
These delays are really informative, as they usually change a lot.

:hocusRed: How to know when an update will be released and what's new?
To stay up-to-date on every release of our recent projects and not miss updates, you can follow us on the social networks.

:hocusRed: Why did you changed movements in some games?
Garry's Mod has an incredibly unrealistic jump distance and running speed. Without these fixes, concerned games would simply be unplayable. You would be able to jump 6 platforms in the Hopscotch, or skip the Jump Rope game completely. In accordance with our players and testers suggestions in beta-testing phases, and to bring back gameplay and making real challenge, we fixed speed, friction and/or gravity in the concerned areas.

:hocusRed: Can I offer some help on this project?
We are always open to new collaborations or partnerships, but since our official team is already full and we cannot hire more at the moment, these will only be for specific projects and will be unpaid. We want to give a chance for beginner artists who want to participate in the development of projects like ours.

You are welcomed to email us at contact@csc-groupe.fr with examples of your work and creations, your projects, your ambitions, few words about yourself and details about your skills, knowledge, or experience, depending on what you would like to share with us.

:hocusRed: How can I support your work and encourage development continuity?
There are many ways. In any case, it is always really appreciated as they support creators a lot. You can either:
Rate our work our Steam and add it to your favorite,
Reward it on Steam,
• Give us honest, contructive and adult feedback,
Share it on your social networks, Steam included,
Make content on it like videos and artworks as it is the main purpose,
• Support us financially.

:hocusRed: Can I become an official CSC-Groupe tester for your projects?
Since joining our beta testers is particularly sensitive for us as they have access to all of our raw and original files, decompiled and not yet licensed, it requires candidacy and the dedicated form of our website (in maintenance at the moment). Usually we choose long years of faithful players where we have trust with them, but we have various profiles.
Garry's Mod has a really different community than our other games. Unfortunately, we too often have to takedown multiple reuploads of stolen content from us. It always gets resolved, by diplomacy or by force with Steam.

:hocusRed: Do you plan to add more developer commentary nodes from the team?
Depending of the players interest, we might create many developers commentary nodes later, as there is really lot to speak about in the behind-the-scene developpement, the features, the challenges we encountered and many other curiosities that players usually love to know in game. We'll see if enough people ask for it.



—— © USAGE, MODIFICATION AND REDISTRIBUTION ——
:hocusRed: Can I use it for my server?
Yes of course! As the licence required, as long as it is for personal use, no commercial, no profits, you can play it with people on your server(s)!
However, server owners should use server's collection instead of extracting the map to copy it manually, since it is faster and because we update it constantly. If we release an update, the addon of your server and all clients will be updated simultaneously. Otherwise, clients will have "Map differs from the server's" error and will not be able to join again.

Also, don't forget to give appropriate credits as we hardly work on this project and get in touch with us! We always appreciate discovering how people will play with our work!

:hocusRed: Can I modify your work?
Any extraction, decompilation or modification is prohibited without explicit consent from the Studio, as they are not supported in the licence.
For licence inquiries, please contact us. We're not annoying, but we want to know by who and how our work is used and distributed.
Also, if you need custom video-game assets like models, materials or levels, remember that we do it on quote.

In short:

Maybe for Red Light Green Light, rather than making a motion-detection system, just detect if a player presses ASWD or any other movement keys? Would that work?
