anyone having problems with sieges?

i really think that Kyoto is the hardest city to attack! The pathing is all wrong, when my soldiers break the gates down they just try and run up a single ladder on the right side. is there any way i can micro manage them better?

This problem is single handedly causing me to drop my 30 hour playthrough so far. Siege pathing on the new castles is impossible unless you have insane brute force. Commands do not work.
