Innovative absurdity. 3/5 stars.

Prodeus Requiem is a mod from some of the Vox Aeterna devs that's equal parts impressive and bizarre. It feels like the authors included every idea they had, for better or worse, and I loved its uniqueness whenever it wasn't busting my balls. These five maps contain a custom Tank boss battle, a throwable spear melee, a drivable forklift, eatable food, realistic keycard action, increased Infected spawns, anime girls, TF2 assets galore, and a finale where speeding cars and giant pinballs want you dead. It's all over the place, but that's half the fun.

Sadly, the programming wizardry can't cover up unpolished fundamentals. Level design is awkward, bots on both teams get stuck frequently, and navigation has some difficulty spikes — most notably when you have to intuit the existence of an invisible ladder and risk your life to reach the Map 2 safe room.

Still, this is so memorable and genuinely innovative that I think it's worth a go. You'll love it or hate it.
