Road To 1.0
With the entire DR3 dataset now in my hands and my classification logic (finally) complete, there's actually still a few more things to do before I'm ready for the full release.

To start with, I still need to add the remaining little bit of distance coverage, which is going to take at least a day despite how few stars are in it; my scripts aren't exactly what one might call "fast", despite my efforts to optimize them.

After that, I am going to dedicate a not-insignificant amount of time to doing a thorough audit of the results, just to make sure I don't have any misclassifications left. If I do find any, then I'll need to delete my cache files and re-test on the full dataset, which takes an average of around 30 hours to run. Per test. Needless to say, I sincerely hope that there aren't any issues, or I will be very unhappy.

Once final testing is complete, I'll be able to start releasing packs. Just like its DR2 Addon predecessor, I'll be doing a few different sizes, and I'll also be releasing a second set that won't have any duplicate filtering aside from the base SpaceEngine catalogs. Hypothetically, this should be able to completely replace the old DR2 addons with more up-to-date and accurate data, but some people (myself included) will want to maintain compatibility with them so they don't lose any cool locations they might have saved.

There are also two more additions that will probably get their own dedicated packs, simply due to the fact that they'll likely be pretty small. First will be one for O-type stars since I already have most of what I need for that. Second will be white dwarfs, which will require significantly more work since there's no existing catalog for them. (Maybe crossmatch with LAMOST DR9, Tan+, 2023?)

"But wait, there's more!"

Gaia DR4 is still coming, though I'm not sure if it will have anything more to offer other than higher quality data, which could warrant an update depending on how much better it is. Additionally, I've received a few suggestions for other catalogs to try and adapt, or maybe the Gaia DR3 galaxies, though I'm not sure how viable that one is. Either way, I'm not done yet.
