TL;DR: Barrel stove for using inside, barrel grill and possibility of placing water filled barrel ontop of them to purify lots of water.

So, one cool thing would be to craft a grill out of one of these. Basically use a welding torch to cut out a door, two doorhinges and some nuts and bolts to make it work. A few iron bars/steel bars for the upper grill part, files and hackswa if you want the recipe to be more difficult, maybe some welding rods.

And now let us place a barrel full of water ontop of it to boil alot(default 800) of water to make it safe. (Who knows, maybe animals need purified water soon?)


Stove:
Then you could also do the same thing with the door but no grill area. Like 5 steel sheets to make a makeshift chimney and that way give us the possibility of crafting a safe stove to use inside. Could even create a custom item, a large stone that has to be chiseled to a flat disk for the cooking part.

Honestly this could go even further: Addon mod: Fermentation and distillation, copper pipes, alcohol distillation and beer making.
