I agree with the routing issue thing though, Wall->FP is completely inaccessible to slugcats without advanced knowledge of movement tech or a large amount of collision buffoonery (You can get slugcats up the first wallspear requirement as a lizard by letting them climb on you! It's buggy but works. Shame you can't go further though)
Meadow is designed to have emote communications only on purpose and honestly I think it fits better than text chat
Color instead of tint would also be nice but I imagine it'd be a pain to rework the current system
While the first is true there is alot of support for it so i think longterm it would be a fun feature
also like you and the other person had said i agree with the emote thing personally i like it alot better but i think its something people are going to continue to ask for ultimately up to the devs to add but i think its atleast worth saying especially the part about it being a toggle if they do
