Suggestions
Would love if you worked on the Celtic League entirely. Separate Cornwall from Devon, make the Isle of Man a province, give Man a tag and its own culture (Manx), give Cornwall its own culture (Cornish), put at least some of Scotland into the Celtic culture group (Highland vs. Lowland?), and make the isles of Jersey and Guernsey part of the province of Wessex rather than Normandy.

I'd like an event that adds the cores of Ireland to all of Ireland even when it's owned by England/GBR in the 18th century when nationalism picks up. Need to make sure the BT of Ireland stays low unless it's unified so that GBR doesn't accept Irish culture. That would be dreadful. Perhaps give them an event to accept Irish culture when the cores appear, and if they don't, Ireland gets a small bump in unrest.

Love the mod so far.

Great suggestions.

I'll definitely be splitting Mann and Cornwall/Devon off, adding the new cultures, and putting more provinces in Wales and Scotland. I'm unsure how to do that without breaking games that people have already started, though. Maybe an event to hand out the new provinces to the appropriate owners could work.

I'll probably be putting in an event at some point that fires if England (or any foreign country) conquers an Irish province to reduce its base tax, which should solve the problem of Irish becoming accepted by/being too useful to England.

I might at some point put in an event chain for the Irish Confederate wars, but I don't think many people will be playing with the mod active but not playing as Ireland, so that'll be lower priority.

If anyone else has suggestions, feel free to post them.

I probably won't be changing the provinces in Ireland. Mostly for aesthetic reasons, I prefer the smaller but less valuable provinces. There are more provinces in Ireland than England for now, which isn't ideal, but I'll be adding 5 or 6 to England, 4 to Scotland, 2 to Wales, and the Isle of Man, so the small provinces of Ireland won't look so out of place soon. France and Spain both have as many or more provinces than Ireland and England combined, so I'm not too worried about them.

I think some additional events would be nice. Just about Ireland in general. Maybe some fictional events like a civil war like the war of the roses but more Irish orientated. Maybe you could have options to deport Norman landlords of let them stay and that could all have different consequences etc., getting cores on scotland maybe as some sort of an "Irish reconquest" from their scottish cousins etc.

I like your mod, but I was thinking an Alternate History event that occurs when an Irish Nation owns all of the major cities like Cork, Galway, Wexford, and Carrickfergus with the exeption of Dublin, for England to decide to leave Ireland, and give you the city in-order to focus on Continental Europe. Also maybe events that occur when you colonize the new world for cities on the West Coast, like Limerick and Galway, to grow in size. For travel and geographical reasons. Also for I would like to suggest some dynamic culture names for Ireland and the Irish minors to seperate the Island from Great Britain.

Your a really good map maker and I think this mod is really cool. You should make some islands a province. Perhaps you can connect the island of Jersey to Normandie via strait so you can invade those French buggers during the 100s year war! When you finish with this mod, you should make other minor countries better too. :)

I'm Loving the mod here, and I have a few Suggestions.

First up, there really wasnt a concept of nationalism in Ireland until much later(1798 rebellion)
so instead of a "form ireland" decision a "Claim the mantle of high King" where you must control at least half of the island(brian boru didnt hold much sway over Ulster for example) and Ireland once formed would get a claim on the irish region.

Breaking up the country into more kingdoms like desmond and breifne would be cool aswell.

Another Idea would be to implement the faction system for irish governments, with a few diffrences;

1. na hollúna - diplo rep and prestige (poets and teachers)
2.na manaigh - papal influence and stability cost modifier(church)
3.na taoisigh- manpower and Agressive Expansion impact impact(warriors)

Flavour missions would be also very useful here, for example ;
-"Reclaim Dal Riata" - take western isles and galloway
-"legacy of Niall Naoi Goilleach " - have a Fleet up to the forcelimit

And as a solution to the basetax thing I suggest that if the english control the Island they get a sort of "Cromwell event " Where rebels spawn and basetax is lowered

To balance it out however there could also be a "plantation event" where provinces are given english culture and local autonomy.

How about some events and decisions to slowly create a Celtic Empire, like not only conquering Scotland, but also Brittany, Cornwall, Wales, England. Maybe even the reconquest of Gaul(France) and Iberia. Along with that would be increased growth on Ireland and the Celtic Heartlands as you expand across Western Europe

This mod is very well done and certainly makes playing an Irish minor much more interesting. I have a couple of suggestions that I feel would improve it. Since you have added more provinces it opens up the opportunity to add some of the smaller kingdoms like Tyrconnell, Desmond, Thomond, and the various Hiberno-Norman earldoms.

Not only would this help accurately show the fractured nature of the Irish at the time but it would also make playing an Irish minor much more interesting. Not only will it break up the exisiting nations but with the new countries, You'll have this really interesting power play between the different clanns fighting for control, all while England is looming in the distance.
HR  [developer] 11 Nov, 2014 @ 12:22pm
I've already got a lot of the work done for new Irish minors, so I'll definitely be adding an alternative, more fractured start at some point and possibly making the full province kingdoms (Ulster, Connacht, Munster, Leinster) formable by decision.

I like the idea of a Celtic union nation and I'll be adding that at some point. I just need a good name for it that doesn't sound bland (Celtic Union) or a bit silly (Celtic Empire).
michjohn 11 Nov, 2014 @ 12:48pm
Some name suggestions for the Celtic Empire I do have include Celtic Empire in Irish (Impireacht Ceilteach), Mhórcheantar Éire (Greater Ireland), Celtica Mór (Great Celtica), and Aontaithe Cónaidhm Ceilteach (United Celtic Federation).

Also maybe you could have some events that turn Dublin into one of Europe's Largest Cities, like having potatoes introduced from the Americas creating a massive population boom in Ireland, like having the provinces around Eastern and Southern Ireland and around the Irish Sea grow alot in base tax.

Cheers for the suggestions. I really like Celtica Mór, I'll probably use that one. :)

I'm hoping to add quite a few events/decisions to simulate population growth. Dublin actually was one of Europe's largest cities by the end date, so there'll be a few specifically to grow it over time (probably related to trade and colonialism since that's how it grew under the British).

You should fix the strait between Orkney and Inverness so it connects to Caithness instead

Totally overlooked that. Cheers for pointing it out, I'll fix it now.

I'm thinking that for the Celtic Empire Nation you added, there could be some events that have people in Ireland move around monasteries and round-towers, thus turning the areas into towns, in Scotland and Wales, the same thing happens, but around abandoned castles giving you a decision to rebuild the castle, or even people in Cornwall going to an isolated area and building a New Camelot.

I'd say the Irish Sea trade node should be much smaller, with maybe just wales, cornwall and only a bit of scotland and england on it. Also maybe the base tax should be decreased, and perhaps even the tribes should start with a slightly slower tech group, considering the english were esentially able to colonise their lands (the plantations). Otherwise, good work!
