Legend of Grimrock 2

Lost City

Updated Lost City
Added some things for better playability:

- To remember a spell, you need to take the desired scroll in your hands.
- The underwater breathing spell now works correctly and depends on the level of the magician (as does mass shield).
- Starvation kills equally and if you have little health you will die first.

Lost City 2.4.1 [wdho.ru]

By the way, if possible, it would be great to receive the game as a gift on Steam - this will open up opportunities for new modding.

Nice! Thx

I continued working on remaking the mod and added a few more features:

- The food you can find in the game is usually not of the best quality, but good one is always available for sale.
- Healing crystals now take a very long time to charge, but you can speed up the town one using gems.
- It is now more difficult to get the light spell (force field is easier), torch creator has appeared, and the ammo one has closed.
- Now all races have a favorite food.
- Alchemy now works according to recipes.

Lost City was a very, very well-made adventure. This is truly heartwarming, man.

Yes, I know - the author of the mod is a professional with games that are presented on Steam and therefore are especially valuable :lunar2019piginablanket:

2.5 is not a finished version and I decided to post it simply because I have accumulated a fair amount of new features that may require further polishing.

Kudos to your efforts.

Gave your updated version a try just now, and although some of the additions are nice, there are clearly problems with some of the changes, as follows:-

1) You can still cast the spells regardless of whether you hold the scrolls or not, so long as you meet the requirements: it just says "Fizzled" the first time you do it.
2) Removing the Light spell has you falling into the same trap Adrageron did in Guardians, forcing the player to crawl around underwater in the dark, which isn't fun at all.
3) The improved Water Breathing spell is great, except 20 seconds is way too short at minimum stats. In Final Adventure, it was 40 seconds with 3 Air, 60 seconds with 4 Air, and 80 seconds with 5 Air (latest version).

If you are looking for suggestions in regards to quality of life upgrades, however, consider making both the gems & lockpicks stackable, the same as Guardians & Final Adventure. The former merely clog your backpack up later in the game forcing you to waste time filling sacks with them.

Sorry for answering only now: my computer broke then and I almost didn't receive any feedback before.

Yes, I accidentally found out about this a long time ago, it’s an optimization bug and it’s already been fixed.
2) Removing the Light spell has you falling into the same trap Adrageron did in Guardians, forcing the player to crawl around underwater in the dark, which isn't fun at all.
I actually swam without light in these mods of the author and didn't see any particular problems with it. Especially since swimming without breath magic can't be long, and now it can't be used right away - I think it has a much bigger impact on the gameplay.
3) The improved Water Breathing spell is great, except 20 seconds is way too short at minimum stats. In Final Adventure, it was 40 seconds with 3 Air, 60 seconds with 4 Air, and 80 seconds with 5 Air (latest version).
Hmm, I haven't finished the mod myself, but there was one streamer who played 2.4.1 and didn't say anything about it - in any case, it will be adjusted at the very end, maybe I'll change the coefficient.

Yes, I wrote this a long time ago, but I was stopped by the fact that some doors are opened with lockpicks and I didn't want to know which ones too early. Now I see that it's worth releasing version 2.5.1 with fixes, but it will be necessary to open an ammo store - any thoughts on what should be there and in what quantities?

Heh, somewhat ironic that I chose today to check out this mod again, eh? At any rate, I've been playing Final Adventure mostly, so I'm a bit out of the loop. Saying that though, weren't Firearms still pretty terrible in Lost City?! (quite sure I stuck with Throwing for most of my playthough for its superior damage).

Missing throwing axes? Indeed in the original LC they were only given for red stones.
