Here's how it would work:
There is a 50% chance (give or take) that the rust virus will convert the corpse(s) into rust blocks.
Divide this number by 2 and make the other 25% (again, give or take) have the rust virus LOSE a block and spawn a rust-covered, metal-like entity (must be vanilla).
This enemy will then rush the player, (hopefully) chasing them in the direction of the virus. The blocks surround your body and turn you into one of them until you respawn. The enemy will then turn back into a rust block.
