Feedback and Ideas
What is this?
I have been getting lots of ideas and things to possibly add to Drok, so i thought why not get it a discussion page? It's easier for me to look back at the ideas later this way.

What are some good ideas?
I want Drok to be as balanced as possible, it's easy to overpower a character you make but i don't want that with Drok. I want Drok to be some sort of expansion to the Don't Starve game and not something totally disconnected from the game. Please keep this in mind when you give any ideas.

If you notice any bugs, or things like that you can also leave them in this discussion.

As a con as you previously mentioned Drok is a spiritual person who believes in the spirit world over gods, i would image as a less than intelligent cave man he would have an overall fear of grave yards at least more than some other characters. if this was to be an acceptable idea i would imagine in DST, dead player character's ghost (or a grave robed ghost) would cause his sanity to drop faster. just a thought. minor but may be too much of a bother to try and state more lore then needed in character selection screen. thanks for your time.

A cavemans signature weapon is also a wooden club if it could smash rocks, cut trees etc i could see that being quite useful especially as a unique starting weapon or maybe a sabre tooth/wolly mammoth tooth related item such as a sabre tooth/wolly mammoth necklace that is an armor that delivers damage to attackers on an attack or that can dig a hole and than with the wood club and tooth at start he would be like that missing link in getting started lol.

I've played the crap outta Drok, and although I can say that he is my favorite modded character by far, he could probably use one more slight weakness, perhaps something to further reward players for living in caves. The way most vanilla characters work is that they have a weakness that's tied to their strength. Even though it would be a significant change, maybe you should give him his damage bonus only when he's in caves. Even more interesting would be tying his damage to his sanity or to the presence of Wilson, i.e when he goes below a certain point his 'spritual rage' or what-have-you gets triggered.

Another thought: since he's a neanderthal type cave-man (he does grow a beard), perhaps give him a summertime disadvantage? A character built to play summers in caves and winters outside would be really original and separate him from being a "wolfgang/ wilson hybrid"

I am currently creating Drok the Caveman 1.9
Quite alot of things will change to keep Drok as balanced as possible, but i will keep you guys up to date when the time is near!

Everytime i try to play as him the game chrashes on the character select screen. Please help! I really wanna try to play this guy.

This mod isn't broken, and 1.9 is on it's way! I am not sure why some people have issues since it works fine on all the machines i tested it and for my friends it works fine too!

i really would like wigstan regenerate sanity when is INSIDE of enventory. it take too much time to drop him on ground and wait for regeneration.

may be there will be a crafting for regular spear for drok only? (like in RoG there is a reciepe for hammer known from start of the game and no need in rope.)

Since he's a primitive caveman, wouldn't the most obvious drawback for him to be not being able to make advanced machines? If he could not make an alchemy engine ,that would cut off a lot of popular advances and require him to rely more on his custom items.

This would force me to make alot of custom items, but it's worth a try i think :)

Just a little something: I noticed Drok can read Tombstones, maybe you should do something about that since he's a primitive guy !

An idea: Rock paintings could give a permanent fighting bonus, like his hair does. So the pros: bonus from each painted rock (with a maximum)

and the cons: hair doesn't help fighting anymore, it simply warms the character. (My english is bad, sorry..)

Tell me what ya think ! And thanks, he's already my favorite character and he should be implemented in the original game (write a letter to Klei's E. ?)
