Meaning of the sword inscription?
Edit: Read the Polycount thread and I see that you've put in quite a bit of research into this. And I gotta say, it looks fabulous. I haven't got the game yet, but I'm getting this set once I do!

I don't know if the creator of this content would read this, but, what does that writing on the sword say?

I think it's supposed to resemble Mongolian folded script, but as someone who know a bit about it, I can't decipher the writing. Maybe it is from an ancient manuscript or something alike, I don't know.

Could the creator reply here?

Now I noticed that the writing is on the helmet as well. It must be meaningful. I'm curious.

Hey, thanks for the comment! I did research it a lot, but still wasn't 100% sure the writing was correct, it is SUPPOSED to say Warrior in Mongolian Script. If anybody can confirm that I'd like to know! :)

I am not an expert in this matter but, I tried reading "warrior" in Mongolian out of that and it doesn't make sense :-D I looked up the folded script alphabet to make sure.

And let me know if you want to work on this and fix the script, I might be able to help.

Edit: Actually, take a look at this: http://imgur.com/DPwkIsc My honest attempt to fix the script. It should be grammatically correct. Feel free to take it, stylize it and incorporate it in your work, if you want.

I can't find the actual ref I used, not sure where it went but this one is the same:

It's apparently neo-Tibetan/Mongolian seal script. Not sure if it's the same thing or even the correct language for a Genghis Khan era set.

Thanks for the input, might have to go back and re-edit it! :D

I see. I assumed that it was a variation of folded script but it is actually the Phags-pa script.

> Invented in 1269 by Phags Pa Lama for Khubilai Khan, this script was adopted for official documents in the Yuan dynasty. It did not replace the traditional writing systems of the respective peoples and ceased being used in 1368 with the fall of the Yuan dynasty [1].

Take a look at this page[1] for an overview of writing systems that were used throughout Mongolian history.

IMO, I would suggest an original style. It was used in the actual Mongolian state stamp, documented in Guyuk khan's letter to Roman Pope Innocent IV [2]. I think it looks way cooler and older [3].

Or you could just use the folded script I posted :D
