If the mod isn't working for you, make sure you checked override mods when loading a save.

If you are running other mods, this mod will conflict with anything that touches the following files in data/scripts/lib/: entitybdg.lua, galaxy.lua, inventoryitemprice.lua, turretgenerator.lua, turretingredients.lua, weapongenerator.lua, weapontype.lua and weapontypeutility.lua.

This is an Avorion limitation; you have to pick and choose mods wisely to avoid conflicts.
