One problem I experience with this is accidentally touching the watch when trying to take out a wrist item and other general interactions during play.
In my case, interacting with the wrist items only takes a couple seconds at most, maybe if it's a hovering action it can require a longer time to activate.
Could the button type action be used as a possible trigger? The one used in lifts (Elevators) where the hand needs to have just the index finger extended to successfully press the button.
I'd think a single finger tap in game would be a reasonably intuitive action, and it would keep accidental taps to a minimum if the watch was worn on the wrist that's hand hasn't got a gun in it.
