The error doesn't seem to affect the functionality at all though. It's just that you're spammed with the erorr all the time.

I have this error too, it appear everytime I strike with a weapon, even if it's not against a zombie.
But unlike you, the mod does not work at all for me on 42.12, I have always 100% multi-hit despite having only 5 strength and no level in weapon.

Even the option to limit with strength the multi-hit to only 2 target does not work, I have set the "Strength required for hitting 3 targets" option to 11 to disable it, but I keep multi-hitting 3 targets.
