Thanks a lot for the feedback. I have a green crosshair too but I guess I forgot other people have different monitors lol.
I'll add this feature now whilst I fix something.
You might think this is a very strange request, but the part I used the most was the square orange room that is only accessible by noclipping. I used it because it had clear walls and the bullet holes were clearly visible, and I could rotate using the walls and when I had already used 3 walls the 4th wall's bullets would have disappeared, so I used it for practicing my recoil control. As CS2 got rid of the cleardecals command, it is really difficult to find a spot to get consistent range to practice recoil control. The square orange room in your 1st iteration of the map is literally the best place to practice recoil control in CS2, and sadly I have to always restart my game to use the "-insecure" launch command to use it, which really bothers me when I just want to practice recoil between 2 consecutive maps.
Could you please add this room to the workshop version? It is not intrusive to the rest of the map in any way, and can only be reached by noclip. I really like the simplistic nature of your map that doesn't feature ads to gambling sites, just a plain good map to practice your aim on. Thank you!
Hey man,
I'm really glad to hear that you enjoy the map! I hope this one is as enjoyable as the first version.
It's funny you found that room haha, I forgot about that. I must've I left it in by mistake lol. I was just testing some stuff in there.
Sure, I can add it back now for you! I'm just about to release a small update to lower the brightness, so I'll add that too.
Two commands I found that I think might be useful for practicing recoil (if it works in normal CS2 and not just the workshop tools):
keep an eye out for an update in about an hour or so because it takes a while to render.
Thanks a lot for your support man <3
Anyway, I will not press you any further on the orange room, because at this point I feel like I'm being a choosing beggar, which is not something anyone likes. Thank you for the effort you put in for one dude on the internet, I appreciate it a lot more than my criticism might suggest!
Now let's come to the main part of the map, I have some suggestions:
1) In the "bot rush" preset, it would probably be better to reduce the (initial) number of bots rushing towards the player. Realistically no one can kill the 14 bots rushing towards them, and if they can, the option to increase the number would always be there. I would suggest testing with 5-8 bots.
2) The "uneven ground" setting is done pretty well, as it is subtle enough that it mimics the subtle map related height variations. I would suggest adding an option for 3 levels- subtle(current); pronounced(subtle+head height when crouched); and exaggerated(subtle+head height when standing, which could mimic someone that is boosted).
3) The "instant respawn" setting should be on by default.
4) The bots tend to move more to the right when using any of the movement settings, and eventually end up grouped up on the right wall. I'm not sure why this happens, but I would suggest looking into it.
5) Bots have jetpacks when jumping, and somehow gain insane speed. I am guessing it has to be something with allowing them to move in the air, but I suggest revisiting this setting and tweaking it so it doesn't feel that forced.
6) Please add a "heavy armor" option. This is extremely useful for practicing bursts to the head with the M4s, and combined with the crouch option, it is basically the only way you can practice spraying on someone who crouches instantly while spraying, which is a bad habit that works too well in real matches.
Thank you for reading, I think your map could be one of the best warmup maps in the CS2 workshop, it needs a bit more fine tuning to be essentially perfect, and I doubt you'll have to touch it any more after that. Oh yes, the brightness is much better now.
IT HAS EVERYTHING NEARLY PERFECT..
i RECOMMEND LOWER OVERALL BRIGHTNESS OF MAP 10-15%
THANK YOU AGAIN!
Thanks a lot man! I'm really glad you enjoy the map and I appreciate the suggestion!
I'll look at lowering the brightness even further however, as an alternative in the meantime, try lowering the value of
r_fullscreen_gamma
in console, and see if that helps.
Hey man, thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying the map.
Hmm, sadly I'm not really sure how to do that. I read that some people said that the knife menu in my map does that anyway, which is strange considering I never intended for that to happen lol!
So, if you're asking me whether I can tell you the steps to recreate that so you can use it in your own map; I honestly I have no idea, really haha. Sorry man
This is something I plan to introduce with the next big update.
Thanks for letting me know! I knew there would be some strange interactions with some of the movement options. I intend to redo a lot of the movement features so that they're more consistent and interactions like this do not occur.
I appreciate the feedback <3 let me know if you have any other suggestions!
