If hero comp ABCD is the most efficient, then everyone will want their team to play ABCD. That in turn is basically going to start arguments / encourage anti-fun play.
This is exactly why Midas was changed to give money after every round ends, because the optimum build it encouraged was to hit for as little damage as possible for as long as possible, i.e. counter-intuitive anti-fun.
To put it in today's context: Do you really want every game to be Bloodseeker + Tinker + Riki + Centaur + PL + Elementalist? You will clear every map up to 37 in a matter of seconds, but I can tell you that your game will be boring as ♥♥♥♥.
[Edit: In fact, I think this is probably the most cancerous combi in the entire game. The game will end up as a race to see whether Elementalist can blast fast enough before Tinker dagons it or bloodseeker 1shots it. And in the unlikely event that everybody dies, the invincible centaur can clear the map while afk. PL breaks round 36 core faster solo than the rest of your team combined, while having 8x the DPS of most other carries.]
You're assuming many of the players are competent. To compare finishing as fast as possible, to finishing as slow as possible is unfair. It's easy for noobs to delay killing bosses you just don't use nukes. It's much harder to finish as fast as you can, if you can even finish AT ALL. Right now at least half of the games have players that have no clue of this mode, players that build armlet, divine rapier, or other nonsense items.
Like I said, I'm not suggesting all of gold should depend on round finish time. But it is equally unfair to say teams with good combination, players with good skills doesn't deserve a small reward to finish faster. The current gold bonus doesn't diffrentiate between noobs or good players/team combination. All you need is put an item in your slot. This suggestion will promote ACTIVE gameplay that takes great effort. Delaying killing bosses to farm is brainless PASSIVE gameplay. There's a huge difference.
Previously, it was very easy for a newbie to ruin your day by picking Lina and destroying waves 1-21. Doing so practically ensured that you were going to lose in impossible. The fact is that noobs still can ruin your day, but they now ruin it less as compared to previously.
However, rewarding faster round completion times is the same as penalising slow round completion times; it's just a different matter of mental framing. By rewarding faster round completion times, you are encouraging "pro (lol)" players to force their team to play a certain combination and disregard the "weaker" heroes. This is not good for game diversity nor does it encourage positive interactions between teammates.
If you feel that your team is not that competent and needed to be carried, just pick any of the heroes except Riki that I mentioned above. Any of them can basically carry the game solo.
I'm suggesting only a portion of bonus gold depending on round completion time. The percentage can be tweaked, like 20%, or 30%. It won't ruin the game but will add another fun goal to it.
Off-topic: What the heck, every hero that I listed here has been nerfed...
