Faceless Voids W
I was looking through the heroes and saw FV, he looked like great fun with the 0.2 BAT W which his kit revolves around. While testing his kit I noticed that if you get a Midas fury + 600 AS you hit the Dota 2 hardcap for attacks/s (0.13/s per attack). This makes FVs W pretty much useless as anything under a BAT of 0.7 and max attack speed is a waste.

Is it possible to remove the hardcap (by removing the animation) or rework the ability in some way to keep his kit revolved around insane attack speed?

the dota hardcap is 0.02s per attack so his w works

When I tried it the damage log showed it as being 13ms between damage instances from attacks while using W. Unless for some reason it doesn't play sounds, animations and show in the logs correctly. I did notice on hovering over damage that it does state that the attack time is 0.03, but it just doesn't seem like it.

Combat logs? it sometimes doesn't accurately show anything for EBF, this includes damage you do and damage you receive even.
Oh and i just tested, it does work. The max I was able to get for seconds/attack was 0.03s/attack, and the animation was fine too. Maybe you don't notice it because it's only for a short duration ( 3s only ) and it's really hard for the human eye to see difference between anything smaller than seconds you know lol. 0.03s - 0.13s. Just can't see the difference unless you watch it for a longer duration. Personally I feel his W is not worth it due to that short duration. Unless you get otherwordly core you can't be spamming that for it to be effective.

with scepter you have clock stopper active while in chrono and backtrack + dodge/bash reduces faceless' cooldowns so the cooldown is really not that long ive found imo; it basically increases dps by 1000% while active due to the attackspeed

edit: after doing some testing it appears that 0.13 attacks per second is actually the limit, the animation and sound frequency goes up but dota doesnt actually apply an attack for some reason

Eh, FV's W doesn't work the same as when troll ultis and io tether's to him? Interesting stuff about BAT then.

if this is correct that means no ability that lowers BAT more than 0.13 works
Skeith 18 Sep, 2016 @ 12:43am
I think you mean BAT doesn't allow the seconds per attack to be lower than 0.13 . But i thought troll's ulti increased ASPD limit so we do get something like 0.07s per attack.

So this means BAT is capped at some point or BAT doesn't affect the seconds per attack as aspd does or if that's wrong then seconds per attack is capped at 0.13 as lowest.

From what I gather the 0.13 seconds per attack limit is a hard engine cap, I'v tested it in IMBA with Night Stalker (who has no AS cap) and stacked thousands of AS, it would never go below 0.13.

nah its apparently literally an engine limitation, that's awkward
Skeith 18 Sep, 2016 @ 1:12am
lol. So anything like skill/item that gives seconds per attack lower than 0.13s is pointless to get?
dopamine hunter 18 Sep, 2016 @ 1:48am
apparently

This means even back then it never worked in reality. It just showed alch doing a sped up animation/sound but the attack rate was the same as when having a 0.13s/attack.

So i just read up on attack speed in dota. Apparently, seconds per attack is called Attack time which means time taken between attacks. It's different from attack rate or attacks per second.
Attack time = 1 / Attacks per second , So from this I am guessing attack rate or attacks per second is the limiting factor for this.

If that so then its volvo stuff afterall.so its also meant that 0.12 aspd on current patch is also a lie?lmao....
