Spaceman's Guide
This guide introduces some of the scenarios you will face while out in space, and how to deal with them.

The beginning
When starting a multiplayer lobby, you should make sure that the submarine and respawn shuttle you selected is suitable for this mod. 4 submarines and 1 respawn shuttle are currently included in the mod package.

When starting a campaign, make sure your submarine has enough scooters for the crew to use. Scooters are relatively easy to make, and are vital to missions in outer space.

Navigation
Starting out, you'll notice a new GUI in the navigation terminal displaying the air pressure of the thrusters. You would want to move those around in a way you can see both easily. Then, pumps found around the submarine need to be set up to pump oxygen to the thrusters. Pumping out around 20-30% on both small and large pumps is usually safe and won't substantially decrease hull oxygen (if there's a vent supplying oxygen in the room), while providing enough air to perform emergency manoeuvres.

When steering, remember that there is no water resistance, meaning that your submarine will not slow down in case of power failure, and will accelerate infinitely if you leave it to do so. Manage your horizontal speed to avoid crashing into a wall and throwing half your crew out into space.

Space missions
So you've got a mission to mine out a cave. Or your ship's thrusters are broken and your captain has ordered you to fix them. Along with what you'd usually bring down in Europa, make sure you've got the following gear:
- A space suit (obviously)
- A propulsion device. Without one, you'll simply float into space. Scooters with oxygen in them work the best for this job, and are cheap to make. Without one, you could also use fire extinguishers too, though you can't put them in your inventory. The respawn suit has a jetpack built in that you can use at the expense of the suit's durability.
- Something to patch your suit. An accidental gunshot or an unlucky bite can leave holes in your suit. If your suit is below 25% durability, as indicated by the bar at the bottom center of your screen, your suit will start to leak. I recommend bringing at least 2 bandages to missions, as this is enough to patch a suit from 0% to 25% guaranteed. Plastiseal and antibiotic glue works even better.
- Don't have bandages? Bring a diving mask. A mask with oxygen in it will protect you from suffocation, though you will still slowly freeze to death in vacuum.

Now, you've gotten back without incident (at least, not major incident), and are ready to put all your gear back. Make sure to put your suit in a suit locker if it's damaged, as this will slowly repair the suit up to 100%.

Surviving as the crew
Sometimes things just don't work out. Hammerheads are attacking, your captain just drove into a wall for the 3rd time and the entire submarine is depressurized.

As mentioned above, diving masks are great for delaying Death By Space. These can be very useful in such cases where diving suits aren't available. It's also good to have a means of propulsion ready for if you have been sucked out of a breach.

To prevent such a thing from happening, stay away from breaches you could fall into, and try to use ladders if you're repairing the breach.

Of course, sometimes you'll get ejected out of a breach, whether by the crew, creatures or wall collisions, and there isn't much you could have done to prevent it. If this is you:

- Don't panic. Panicking means you'll use up reserve oxygen faster, speeding up your demise.
- Check your inventory. If you have a diving mask, put it on. If you have a scooter, use it to get back to the submarine.
- If you don't have a scooter: unfortunately, the chance of surviving decreases significantly. However, if you were ejected close enough to the submarine, and you've got something to stand on, ragdoll to jump in the direction you're pointing at.
- If all else fails, you could throw a ragdolled character in the direction you're pointing at by grabbing their body and pressing your Use button.

The end.
If you have any questions about the mod, put them in the replies and I'll probably answer them.

@climsteele it seems to work fine for me, did you choose a submarine marked as [space] and set pumps to out?
when you say set them to out you mean to set them in the negative instead of the in. if so then yes
when im navigating my sub in the designer my sub can only go vertically up but i cannot descend nor stop my ascent same as the campaign

i tested all the subs and i have no clue. if you're trying to make your own sub, you need two air thrusters, one normal and one with the "mirror Y" button toggled on and both linked to nav console and pumps
